What New Parents Must Know About Baby Immunization

The novel coronavirus has reemphasized the importance of vaccines once more. Timely shots have saved many from falling prey to this dangerous disease. Vaccines play an extremely important part in human lives right from birth. They are even more important for newborns and children.

Young children are at a greater risk of suffering from infectious diseases because their immune system, or the defense mechanism for protection against diseases, is not developed yet. This makes them easy targets. Hence vaccines become ever so important. As soon as the baby is born, the hospital issues a baby vaccination chart that keeps account of all the vaccines he or she would need through the growing-up years.

A couple of family members accompanying the child for vaccines is ideal for required support. You may also wish to carry his or her favorite toy or blanket to distract him from the pain and discomfort.
